Brightstor Backup for Linux uses award-winning, innovative technology to deliver complete data protection across your business. When your business is able to resume operations shortly after a major disaster, the return on investment of a backup and restore solution is attained almost instantly.

This backup solution offers built-in support for one-drive tape libraries, disaster recovery, backup and restore to and from disk, a command line interface, NAS (NDMP) support, multiple NIC support and 24 x 7 availability through optional “hot” protection agents for MySQL, Oracle and Apache Web server applications.

- Multiplexing capabilities enable up to 32 jobs to write to the same media simultaneously. This allows you to shrink your backup window and make efficient use of tape libraries and media.
- Multiple NIC Support to create a separate storage area network without the costs associated with deploying a SAN. This can help to avoid data bottlenecks and improve backup performance.
- Offsite Vaulting Integration Designed to play a key role in your overall disaster recovery plan. It provides advanced media management for Linux servers and integrates smoothly with your off-site vaulting provider (such as Iron Mountain and others)
- Command Line Interface to can run common backup and restore functions directly from the command line, which allows you to include these functions in batch files and invoke them from other automated solutions, such as Unicenter® Network and Systems Management.
- Disk Staging Backup (D2D2T): shrinks backup time by allowing backup data to be staged to fast drives before it is automatically moved to tape. Restore requests are redirected to disks automatically, reducing recovery time. The whole operation is policy driven, reducing cost and management overhead.
