The DDS Gen6 tape drive is the 6th generation in the widespread and proven DDS tape technology. The drive offers top capacity and performance and is a reliable and low-priced data backup solution. The enlarged capacity is achieved by using a new 8” high cassette. The tape drive saves 160 GB data in 3 hours (compressed) and is thus an ideal solution for small and medium-sized companies where costs and time play a very significant role.

The DDS Gen6 tape drive has transfer rates of up to 13.8 MB/s at 2:1 compression. Reverse compatibility (read/write) to DDS4 and DDS Gen5 media is ensured. The compact, half-height form factor of the drive makes it flexible for use in existing server environments.

Connection in the system is either via the low-priced and universal Plug-and-Play USB 2.0 interface or the Ultra 160 interface for Legacy SCSI servers.
